Tomato Rice with Raita

Indian cuisine is full of mouthwatering dishes... And here comes the first one from my kitchen. Plain steamed rice with goodness of fresh tomatoes and aroma of spices
Ingredients
Rice - 1cup
Tomatoes - 5-6 medium sized
Onions - 1-2
Ginger Garlic Paste
Red Chilli - 5 -6
Dhaniya - 1 tablespoon
Chana Dal - 4 tablespoon
Khas Khas powder - 1 tablespoon
Rai/Black mustard -1and half table spoon Curry Leaves -7-9
Coriander Leaves
Turmeric Powder

Process
Chop onions,  tomatoes,  coriander separately
Soak rice in water for 30 minutes before cooking.Post that cook rice and keep it aside.

In a frying pan roast Chana dal,  red chilli and dhaniya. Make a fine powder in mixer.
For masala/gravy put pan on flame. Add oil,  when it gets heated add black mustard/rai, add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste,  after 2 -3 minutes add onions,  fry until little golden brown,  add fresh chopped tomatoes and make a paste,  cook for 10minutes,  add salt, turmeric,  Khas Khas powder,  and mix of dhaniya, Chana dal and red chili,  cover the lid and fry for 5 minutes, add little water if needed and cook till all water disappears and becomes a smooth paste.... Waaao v r almost done...add cooked rice and mix well.. Switch off the flame. Mix finely chopped coriander and serve hot... Enjoy yum food
